Read more extension update version 1.2

Post by alexmasss » Sat Feb 25, 2017 10:52 pm

This is Responsive Read More extension update version 1.2
It is free of charge and is provided “AS IS”. It is based on the script taken from https://codepen.io/maxds/pen/jgeoA.
The extension works only with textual content.
What’s new in version 1.2?
Now you can customize “read more” and “read less” font-size, font-color and font-family.
“read more” and “read less” now start from a new row.
IE and Firefox show correctly “read more” text color but in old versions of Chrome it may remain fixed. Use only modern and updated browsers.

Considere add a full edit content, with format. Only one paragraph, and the posibility of add multiple instances

I thought about it but I could not insert in the extension the ADD button, that is why I made the txt. If you have any idea how to implement tell me please.

Hi Alex,

It's not working for me. I followed the instructions step by step, word by word but it shows the full text without the options of more or less.

I installed the extension with extension manager into WYSIWYG extension folder... really, I have NO idea what I'm doing wrong :(

Have you completed everything in the extension menu dialog? Are you using the last version 1.2? You can see the version using the extension manager.

Alex, is there a way to include links and bookmarks in the text? If so, what do I have to insert within the text?

And what do I need to insert within the divs to have 'show more' or 'show less' in italic? Can you, please, give me specific examples?
Also, they do not respond to my choice of text colour.

Is it possible to 'justify' the text? It will look so much neatter.

What do I need to insert to have spaces between the text paragraphs? Is it possible to have 2 columns of one text?

Apologies for so many questions but html is a foreign area to me :?

The color of show more depends of the browser used, it is not related to the extension. You can not split the text in 2 columns.

I worked out the breaks between paragraphs and links by studying html for dummies :D

They also show CSS for text align and columns so my question is if and where I can insert the css codes into the extension?

The only place where you can introduce smth is the text content. I have not studied the possibility to change to italic or justified yet. You are the first who asks for it. I will look if it is possible but don't expect it soon.
