tried a re-name of file???

Post by Sandyfishgirl » Fri Sep 11, 2009 5:21 pm

/public_html/cart/ - - - EDIT: this is where all files, folders,pages... for the site reside.

I added "cart" to the URL - in the dbts processor - republished the dbts functions - all files in dbts. Also re-published the page which contains the form. I still get an error :(

The requested URL /cart/req_form_thanks_.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I must be blind! It has to be something simple!

EDIT - - - Should have included - the form is on the "About" page

EDIT 2 - - - OK, so I tried to

change the file name - no go
select "use built in processor" - from form properties page - nope

each time I changed something that did not work I 'undid' changes. BUT - I have missed something now - - when I fill out the form & hit submit - I get an 'internal error' "The entered code was wrong" and a hyper link "go back"

OH BOY! I've made a mess!

Can you please provide a link to your form page?

If the form and the "success" page are in the same folder("cart"), in the "success" URL field type simply "req_form_thanks_.php"

Hi George :)

Thanks for helping. I have also looked in my files for instructions that came with processor. I did not find it so I may download it again - so I don't mess this up next time... I was sure I have tested this before & it worked :?

Also tried removing captcha & that did not make a difference, so I put it back. Of note: without the captcha I did get the auto response mail - but without any of the 'testing' information I had filled out.

THANK YOU!!!

EDIT - - forgot to say....

Yes, they are in the same. I made the change. Still having error with:

"The entered code was wrong.
Go Back"

SO now I can not tell if the thanks will come up. I don't understand "this" error page - should it not be the custom error page???

I think maybe this is a captcha problem & not the form? I have used the WB6 captcha before with no problem.

Back again - I just re-read the page about this application on your website - so I sent you something there :)

In fact, in the zip you download, there is a manual in PDF format

Your form encoding type is "text/plain" whilst it should be "multipart / form data". So the captcha field value (as well as all other fields) is NOT transmitted, this is the reason why you have the error message

Until you fix this, we can't understand what else might also be wrong, so please edit, save, publish and refresh your browser before you test it. Then we can take it from there.

Thank you! Pretty appreciated! :D

edit completed

Post by Sandyfishgirl » Sat Sep 12, 2009 11:18 pm

Hi again,

Busy day today - just getting to this.

I made the edit. Save. Cleared cache & refresh.

The good news is - I am able to send the completed form - all information is received :)

I also completely removed the thanks & sorry pages, including images - from my drive and server files. Re-published & uploaded....

The bad news is - I still get a page not found - 404

Please tell me what to do next.

THANK YOU!!

Ok, at this point it is obvious that you have mistaken the success url path -

If possible, please enlarge the properties window and take a screenshot so i can see your settings.

What exactly have you typed in the "success URL" ?
And, is the "After Processing Behaviour" set to "Redirect"?

Well, you have mistaken the success URL:

It is http://lellaslingerie.com/cart/req_form_thanks.php

and not http://lellaslingerie.com/cart/req_form_thanks_.php

The last underscore should NOT be there.

The same for the error page.

Yes, extensions only work on registered (purchased) version.

In the zip there is a FULL User's Manual that you should read in order to learn how to install and use the extension.

The file is not included because it is automatically created during the installation process.

ABVFP is a form processor, the form needs to be created in WB6 following the manual instructions as far as naming of the fields is concerned.

You can't test locally a PHP script, because PHP is a server side programming language that is only executed on a web server that supports it. Unless you install a WAMP (Windows Apache MySQL PHP) environment on your computer.

However, I recomend using my other form processor, which comes as extension for WB6.
