Email Form at top of Main Page?

Post by MorningLight » Fri Dec 22, 2017 2:12 am

Hi,

I had developed two websites without any problem to utilizing e-mail form (PHP).

This one is showing a very uncommon behavior.

1- I have a single HTML page withou ANY form - just UI - called MAIN.HTML.
2- I have another page called CONTATO.PHP with a block of email there.

When I publish the website, the code of the CONTATO.PHP form APPEARS at the top of the MAIN.HTML page!
I can see all parameters there: the User Account, his Password, the SMTP setting and so forth!

I'm really very confused since I'm sure CONTATO is set as PHP type and it is a separated page of MAIN.HTML.

My tries to solve it:
- I set every single parameter of my older websites (Tools, Options) in this one.
- I checked and recheked if the PHP form is really set at "page properties" as PHP and it is.
- I checked every single parameters between another 100% email form (another website) and this one and everything is 100% identical.

What could be happen here?

Thanks for any help!

INteresting...

If I see the PAGE HTML code of Main.html, I can see all code of PHP-Mail there...

The problem was caused because I put before the EMAIL FORM BLOCK in this page but after some SAVE/PREVIEW I noticed my fault and:

1- I cloned the MAIN.HTML page to CONTACT.PHP one;
2- I erased the EMAIL FORM BLOCK from MAIN.HTML;
3- I edited CONTACT.PHP and erased everything but the email form.

It seems MAIN.HTML hadn't noticed the form was erased and I cannot erase it by myself because the code is not "editable".

It's really annoying.

When posting it is always best to provide a working url so that we can view and provide a answer. Or if you cannot do this then please share what you have done by this you can upload a couple of your project to your host/server and provide a link to download.

It seems even I had deleted the entire BLOCK (Email Form) from MAIN.HTML, the code remains there....

And I cannot get it out.

:(

**SOLVED** Email Form at top of Main Page?

Post by MorningLight » Fri Dec 22, 2017 3:01 am

I got a solution!

I had put the EMAIL FORM within a LAYOUT GRID and when I deleted the entire BLOCK (I had appended it from the BLOCK's control) the WB12 didn't remove the FORM CODE from the Layout Grid.

I mean, when I saw the LAYOUT properties I noticed the "ENABLE FORM" checkbox was set, even after the BLOCK form had been deleted!

I believe it could be understood as a BUG, since when we delete a FORM-BLOCK (like Email-Form), we suppose the program would delete also its FORM code that was appended.

Anyway, thank you @BaconFries...

This is not a bug.
If you remove a form then it will remove the code. Each object generates it own code. If the object no longer exists then the code will no longer exists.
You probably did not remove the parent layout grid that contains the form.
