Tell a friend and Upload file/picture

Post by peter30 » Sun Dec 10, 2017 6:43 pm

Hi!

I have made a Tell a friend form with a File Upload box so people can mail a picture as well when telling a friend about a website. The form works just fine but the picture or pictures (I have tried one and then 2 pictures) does not show up in the mail that the friend gets. How do I get that to work?

Many thanks for a GREAT software.

The "tell a friend" template uses a dedicated script to process the form, it does not use the built-in form processor.
The script does not support file uploads. If you want both features then you will need to merge the two scripts yourself.

Thanks so much for answer. Is that the same for all forms even when using the form wizard?

Just made another form with Captha and used the:

Form processing
Use built in PHP - form script
and having Success page and error page

and filled out the fields:
Email address
Subject
etc

and when pressing Send without doing anything else the whole page dissapear.

The server is php 7.0

Do I need to give it some more permissions?

it seems that the form is sending the message with or without Captcha and goes to the thank you page.

Is that right for all the forms, also in the wizard?

The purpose of the 'tell a friend' template is to show you how to create a 'tell a friend' form with a custom.
The script was not designed to handle file uploads. That is not a common combination.
You cannot use a custom script and the built in script at the same time.
All form templates that use a custom script cannot be used in combination with the built-in (generic) script.

Here's is an example how to implement your own file uploading script:
