Is it possible to create my own form template?

Post by alex2 » Wed Nov 09, 2016 10:23 pm

I have written my own ecommerce website and repeatedly use the same form layout and to date copy and paste an existing form already created, then edit parts of it for adding new items for sale.
The form includes a title, text, image, quantity, editbox, listbox, "Add to basket" button etc and has common hidden fields hooking to a third party server.
I have searched for existing form templates but none do exactly what I require.
Is it possible to save my form as a form template to make re-using it easier?
Any advice appreciated.

It is not possible to save the form in a template, because form templates are just a definition of form fields and do not specify the layout.
However if you are an advanced user then you can edit the 'forms.dat' file.
Note that there is no support on editing this file.

Thankyou for the suggestion of editing forms.dat.
I am not an advanced user of WWB but am a software engineer by trade so don't mind dabbling in code.
I have just tweaked forms.dat and made my own variation of a form template which works so this looks like the way forward for me.
Thanks again for your help
