sitemap homepage issue

Post by longman » Thu Aug 16, 2018 4:44 pm

Hi guys,

I noticed that WB sitemat creates two links for homepage, like this:

Code: Select all

<urlset xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9">
<url>
<loc>https://www.domain.com/</loc>
<lastmod>2018-08-16</lastmod>
<changefreq>always</changefreq>
<priority>1.0</priority>
</url>
<url>
<loc>https://www.domain.com/index.html</loc>
<lastmod>2018-08-16</lastmod>
<changefreq>always</changefreq>
<priority>1.0</priority>
</url>
Is there a way to prevent it? or tell it to add only either of them? because www.domain.com and www.domain.com/index.html are both the same.

Thanks!

You can remove pages from the sitemap via the option 'Do not include this page...' in the page properties.
