Strange behavior

Post by aeroflyte » Mon Feb 26, 2018 11:54 pm

I am a bit red faced even posting this and am sure it is something simple.

I needed to add an image in two places on my website. One is on my contact page and I simply placed the image block and then browsed to the picture and loaded it. I then positioned it into the various size pages so it would be responsive and then did the preview. I could see it. Then i published it.

It's not there. It's also not in the file in my hosting account. So I simply uploaded it there and voila, it's there on the webpage.

Did I mess up a setting with the uploader somewhere?

Thanks in advance. Hope all is well!

Obvious question really but if you used the built-in Publish option did you select Publish All Files?

I did. I did it both ways just to see. I also checked the setup and tested it.

Seems like the publish is failing.

I get Internet exception error 12002Details: The operation timed out

Do I need to get in touch with my hosting company?

Thanks
John

What does the publish log say? Did you increase the timeout? if you are using wininet please select winsock and try again. Please read from the following at the url below. What to do if publishing times out?Publish FAQ and also see from the start of page "How do I publish my pages?" with link. Publishing your web pages

Did you use websafe name and file format? .jpg, .png, .gif in rgb color range. Filename without spaces and special signs and characters... ex; filename.jpg, facephoto_big.jpg, background_01.png etc etc

I selected passive mode and now it works.

Thanks!
