Novice having trouble publishing

Post by SteveWWD » Thu Sep 21, 2017 1:52 am

Hi Folks

I am a new user and I have designed my first website. When I publish to my local drive all works OK, e.g. menus are present and active.
When I use the contents of c:\ Local Publish and transfer them to my website host no menus appear

The only files that appear in Local Publish are html and images. There is no structure if thats the right term, no css files

All that can be seen from the website is the index page but no menus taking you to the other pages, but in local Publish the menus appear

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Steve

By the way I am using Version 12

I have continued playing around - found an option under HTML to generate external CSS style sheets for page specific sites. That now generates a .CSS file for every page.

Menu buttons still do not show. You can hover over where they would be and you can click on them and it goes to the pages.

Images are not loading, e.g. logos, photos

Did you upload the entire folder structure?
Why didn't you use the built-in FTP to publish your website to the server?
What is the URL so I can see what is missing?

the url is warranwoodsharks.com.au FYI I am using WYSIWYG to design my website, Version 12
To the left of the title banner is meant to be a logo
The green panel on the left is where the menus are...if you move over them you can see the links

Yes I did publish the entire website, not just HTML

The images are in a sub-folder called Images. I also tried including them in the same folder as the HTML

I didnt use the FTP option because I dont know all the responses for the fields (Host?)...this is all very new to me

The name of the images folder on the server is incorrect.
Note that 'Images' is not the same as 'images' Web servers are case sensitive.

I highly recommend the built-in Publish option.
It's very easy to use (once you have the correct entries!) and far less prone to error.
