HTML <meta> before <style>

Post by tommy888 » Fri Jun 30, 2017 5:09 pm

Hi Pablo,

Could you please enable added/manually inserted code between <head> tags - meta descriptions just in the very beginning of the head section along with predifined in WB properties meta <title> etc. CSS code goes in between met tags in head section.

To speed up[ loading a page I include style into html and do not generate exteranl css files. I know that should be external css files but thsi solution works fine for speeding up the page load time to maximum - already proved in the tests.

Mainly, what I want to add is hreflang for both language versions of my site along with the code manually inserted for Twitter Cards and Open Graph.

Pablo please be advised URL in Open Graph (built in Properties WB12) does not generate og:url and this element is required.

It is generated. Maybe you are not using the latest update?

Unfortunately I cannot give you full control over every line of coded and where is is place . WWB is not a code editor.

Manually inserted code in head section (page HTML) goes far behind the begining of head section

Custom meta tags should be inserted in the meta tags section of the Page Properties.

I understand Pablo. I'll check og:url later. When I add the Open Graph description using built in Open Graph the go in the very beginning of html head section where actually they should be.

But is there a way to allow manually inserted code meta tags, html elements to be published in the first place before the generated code. The problem is that I also use Twitter cards, Rich Pin for Pinterest and this must goes in meta tags section in the very beginning of the page.

I use your minify option for html, css, java when publishing directly to a server from Web Builder 12 using your SFTP extension.

Otherwise I would have to have a lot of work to manually add these lines to every page. The solution would be allow the inserted code to go first in WB publishing feature.

Did you try the suggestion from my previous post (page properties->meta tags->user defned)?

See I' use extended descriptions. They need to go in the very beginning of the head tag along with the mata descriptions generated from built-in in WB Meta Descriptions/Tags.

Open Graph:
<meta property="og:type" content="business.business">
<meta property="og:title" content="........................">
<meta property="og:description" content="......................................................">
<meta property="og:url" content="............................................">
<meta property="og:site_name" content="........................................" />
<meta property="og:image" content=".........................................................">
<meta property="og:image:type" content="......................................" />
<meta property="og:image:height" content="............." />
<meta property="og:image:width" content="................." />
<meta property="og:locale" content="pl_PL ">
<meta property="og:locale:alternate" content="en_Gb ">

Twitter Cards

<meta name="twitter:card" content="summary_large_image">
<meta name="twitter:site" content="@.....">
<meta name="twitter:creator" content="@.......">
<meta name="twitter:title" content="..........">
<meta name="twitter:description" content=".................................................................... ">
<meta name="twitter:image" content=" ............................................................................">

Language specification for multilingual page:

<meta http-equiv="content-language" content="en">
<link hreflang="en" href="http://designcode.esy.es/en/wedding-dresses.html" rel="alternate" />
<link hreflang="pl" href="http://designcode.esy.es" rel="alternate" />

Please add custom meta tags in the meta tags section, not in Page HTML.

Pablo adding a meta description above (with data) in Used Defined Meta Tags (Page Properties WB 12) didn't bring the description to the very beggining. It won't work. WB publishes css <style> properties just after meta tags. see an excerpt.

<!doctype html>
<html>
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<title>Suknie Ślubne Producent Relevance Bridal</title>
<meta name="description" content="Suknie ślubne renomowanego producenta. Relevance Bridal jest znanym i cenionym na rynku polskim producentem sukien ślubnych. Dołącz do naszej sieci salonów sukni slubnych, otwórz własny salon lub poszerz ofertę ślubną.">
<meta name="keywords" content="suknie ślubne, suknie ślubne producent, producent sukien ślubnych, hurtownia sukni ślubnych, relevance bridal">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">
<style>html,
body {
height: 100%;
width: 100%;

then in 5007 line meta descriptins added in USer Defined -- Page Properties _WB Meta Tags.

Pablo, only by ticking publish global css and specific page styles am I able to move meta tags to the beginning. Yet, it's not the solution as page speed dramatically decreases due to numerous calls. I can't afford to do this.

Pablo I did as you mentioned with the same result. <style> is published before User Defined meta tags section

Are you sure?
Custom meta tags are inserted right after the head tag, before anything else (version 12.1)

Code: Select all

<!doctype html>
<html>
<head>
--- USER DEFINED GOES HERE ---
<meta charset="utf-8">
<title>Untitled Page</title>
<meta name="generator" content="WYSIWYG Web Builder 12 - http://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com">
<style>

Yes, I'm sure. I'm using 12.1 June 16th version of WB12.

Please be informed I include all css <style> into html without generating external css files as Google prefers.
