Windows 10 Creators Update and Previewing

Post by Starb7 » Fri Jun 23, 2017 3:48 pm

Hi All

I expect the Windows 10 Creators u/d (which my PC has now done) will generate a few issues. I have a couple of ones re the Preview of a site.

1. All the list of Browsers has gone in the latest 12.1.0 update - I just see 'Default Browser' now (I had 4 there)
2. Previewing to the default, MS Edge, now generates an extra dialog 'Do you want to open this file?' and you have to click 'Open' to preview the page
3. Some objects, eg a shape, only show an icon, ie object missing and not the shape, this may be for many other items too.

Any suggestions *other than reverting to pre W10C or WWB12.0.5?

Cheers

Paul

update: now have browser list back (Auto Detect - nice!) and tried other browsers and they seem to work OK. It's just Edge that seems to have an issue with WWB 12.1.0. Not only does the image now show but events are not working, ie I have simple hide on scroll event that works fine in all browsers except Edge, hmm

There ate no known issues with the Windows 10 Creators
All known issues have been addressed in 12.1.

Note that 'Preview' is system functionality. The message is generated by your system and unrelated to WWB.

The shape issue is also unrelated, however to be able to help you with this I need more information . Like an URL, project file etc.

There is some issue somewhere as:

1. It worked on pre Creators version
2. If you click 'Preview' you get a warning BUT if you click the drop down menu and choose 'Microsoft Edge', you don't!
3. In either case, the object fails to show. To recreate simply create a new project and add a shape - publish it and no image shows.

Note this is the same for all projects, ie none of them are showing objects in Edge

EDIT: Here's what I get Image

It could be my PC....

Cheers

This has nothing to do with WWB.
It a system related warning. You will probably get this for all local HTML files.

Have tested this and you don't get this error in WWB 11.6.4! Has 12.xx changed the way it previews?

EDIT: Oddly, if you uncheck the Options > Publish & Preview > Preview > 'Disable IE Security warning during preview' all works fine in Edge. (Which Explains why my v11 worked OK)

This confirms that this is related to your browser's security settings.

Each browser has its own security settings.
This has nothing to do with WWB.
