Publishing to folders

Post by John K » Wed May 31, 2017 7:09 am

I have a problem with folder names on my website.
WWB automatically converts folder names to all lower case characters.
My website is linked to a product database for manufacturers and wholesalers so that the product database can fetch documents and pictures from my website.
However, that database always assigns a capital letter first to the folder name when it is entered.
I have solved it temporarily with having to folders on the website, one Document folder and one document folder. However, this is cumbersome.
Is it possible to have WWB modified to allow for capital letters in folder names?

As far as I know you can use capital letters in folder names (in the Site Manager).
However it is not common to use uppercase characters in folder names, because web servers are case sensitive, so using different cases may cause confusion.

What I am referring to is File-Options and Target Folder for File Types.
When I am using a capital letter first here, it is converted into lower case, e.g. Documents becomes documents.
This makes it impossible to save the files in the Documents folder.

I'm sorry this feature currently only supports lower case.
This cannot be easily modified because it will have a huge impact on the internal behavior of the application.
Maybe in a later version.

Thanks for reply.
I would really appreciate if you would fix this in a later version, because it creates some difficulty with maintaining the website as it is now.

Note that this behavior was implemented intentionally because some web servers do not support uppercase folders. By forcing lowercase it will always work.
Also as mentioned this will have a major impact on internal functionality, so I cannot be implemented this quickly.
