Master frame and question about Menu sync

Post by Maario » Sun Sep 09, 2018 9:51 am

I am using master frame. In my project I have two folders for different posts: 1.3d printimine and 2. Droonivideod.
When I add to the master_frame any type of menu and I select "Synchronize with site manager", first level, target: self. Then I preview the index page (index page is outside of the folders) and I click one of the menu links, the page opens with url: file:///C:/Users/Maario/AppData/Local/Temp/preview/Droonivideod/page4.html

On the same page, I click next menu link and I get "File not found" on the url:
file:///C:/Users/Maario/AppData/Local/Temp/preview/Droonivideod/Droonivideod/page3.html

Like you see from the url, it was appending folder name to the url second time.

Is this normal and if yes, then what what can I do to use synchronization with folders?

When using internal links, the master page should be in the same folder as the page. Links are relative to the master page, so they are not valid in another folder.

Ok. If I think correctly, then it doesn't help me if I make master_frame in every folder.
It seems that the "workaround" would be for me to rightclick on some page and click "new page" (create sub-page and group similar pages that way. if that makes sense). But I would ofcourse love If I could sort similar pages to folders. Could it please be something you can add in the future?

Unfortunately, this is not possible. Internal links are only valid in the same folder. There is no way to have the same menu with a different structure in another folder.

A possible workaround would be to use absolute links instead.

Oh yes, I wanted to ask you about these. Where can I set so that it would use absolut links for synchronized menu. I'm shamed to say but I did not see that option.

Absolute links must be set manually:
Link to: External Web Address
URL: http://www.yourwebsite.com/pagename.html

You cannot synchronize external links because the software does not know what the link should be.
