Ver 12 not publishing link with .HTML extension

Post by squarespix » Sun Jan 21, 2018 12:40 am

Hi,

I am trying the new build version 12 before buying the upgrade for a discount price. I current own build version 10 and had no issue with it. I am using a new template from the build version 12 call "Work" and added some more pages to it. I am having problem when trying to publish the website to my server. Its not outputting the ".html" extension in the codes for any of the linked html pages, so when I click on a link on the server it return an 404 error saying page not found.

The link it published is coded like this: www.websitename.com/pagename (no .html extension)

I only got it to work if I manually add the www.websitename/pagename.html

I had to add the ".HTML" to the page name to get it to work right. I looked at the source codes and all the links have no .html extension in the codes, but when the website is published, all the linked pages have the ".html" extension to the files.

Please help, how do I get it to publish the ".html" extension in the source code?

Thanks,

Peter

This is due to you having enabled the following. Tools->Options->Publish & Preview->Hide file extension
Be sure to read the help before enabling this option!
