I am not sure what sort of problem you are having with this calendar but as it stands it works perfectly with WWB 8.
As for the validation, it works with a forms textbox which you can add your own validation if you know how to use forms.

There might be a compatibility issue here as it uses 1.8 of jQ. I could be wrong but BaconFries was making an extension from a code that was using 1.7 and that made the rest of WWB code unusable. Need to investigate....
