Re: My first Scouts web site is now live

Thanks - yes, it was a large hurdle to overcome, but it's been worth it in the end.

My first Scouts web site is now live

After months of checking things and designing things and fixing bugs and then going back and checking things again, my Scouts web site has gone live. Feel free to browse here https://www.penninescouts.org.uk/index.html (but don't fill out the forms unless you really mean it :D ) Feedback invited Alan

Adding random quotes

Is there an easy way to have a page which, each time it is loaded, pulls a line from a list of quotations in a random order and displays it?

Cheers

Re: Styles I create don't seem to work in table text

Table manipulation isn't brilliant in WWB. Maybe it's something for version 16.

Re: Canonical Link not working

But your two links posted are actually the same page. Most browsers, if they don't see an 'html' or 'htm' extension on a link, will automatically add 'index.htm(l)' - so both your links are actually saying the same thing.

Or am I confused?

Re: Designing for mobile users

I've tried the 'fully responsive' mode with the layers and stuff provided here, but I found it quite limiting as I only have partial control over where things go. So, I now write using the 'adaptive' method. I have done 4 sites so far and all seem to work as I expect them to. I set the default break...

Re: MP3 download link

Could you have a link as you said above but have instructions which says 'left click to play, right click to download'? I am sure most browsers support a right click to include a 'save as'.
