index.php

Why does my url not go to the index.php file when you enter url in browser address bar? Instead I get a ton of code. If i enter www.urlname.com/index.php it works.

I do not want to have to worry about forwarding www.urlname.com to www.urlname.com/index.php.

Solutions?

Thanks

Re: Canonical Tag

ok - i know that - but I was hoping that there was a way to specify which page has the canonical tag, and if it automatically creates the code needed

I am trying to add this but unsure of the steps. Some sites say I can add via html others via google analytics. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Re: How to hide the html and php extensions in page url's?

understood about needing the ext - however I want someone to be able to type into the address bar www.websitename.com/events/event_name and not www.websitename.com/events/event_name.html

Actually i want them to be able to type in either and it find the page.

is this possible?
