I was having similar problems, and was referred to viewtopic.php?f=10&t=67924 which has a way of dealing with missing extensions

I using the Hit Counter Extension - Version 1.0 extension on http://www.boga.co.uk and it works fine, but counts any visits to the index page - including those made when 'Home' is selected from sub pages. Text Tools Disappearing

I've been using v14.2 64 bit quite happily, but now seem to have upset something. If I double-click on a Text element 'Text Tools' appears in green at the very top of my screen, 'Format' is highlighted on the second row, and the usual ribbon tools appear for Font type, size, Bold, italic, text align...

I'm no expert, but the opening page looks rather plain to me. Nowadays, a background picture seems to be the norm.
