The site manager is for managing pages, not images.
If you want to manage your (local) images yourself then please disable 'Let WWB manage images and other files...'

What exactly do you mean by 'mobile template'?

There are multiple way to make your website mobile friendly.

It looks like you have used layout grids on your homepage, so in that case there is no need to create a separate mobile page.
